Whisky a Go Go celebrates 40th anniversary
with The Doors, Rock n Roll Hall of Fame & jdmrubbings.
Nov 8, 2006 - An historic night for jdmrubbings creator, Susanna Griffie,
and all who attended the celebration at The Whisky this night. The Rock n Roll
Hall of Fame was there to induct The Whisky. The Doors returned to the famous
stage that launched their remarkable career; kicking off their year long celebration
of their 40th anniversary. The only person missing was Jim Morrison. I brought
Jim to everyone this night by proxy thru the presentation to The Whisky a Go
Go of a framed Ltd. Edition Print of the Jim Morrison rubbing offered on this
site. The print will hold a special place of honor on the wall at The Whisky,
in memory of Jim Morrison & the contribution of The Doors.
Hundreds of people lined up outside while I was entertained with a warm up
performance from the remaining members of The Doors. Former Doors drummer,
John Densmore was there but did not join Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger on
stage. Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington and Jane's Addiction singer Perry
Farrell took turns at the mic doing Morrison's part with former Guns & Roses
guitarist Slash there to help out. It was quite surreal, watching Ray Manzarek
and Robby Krieger perform all their famous tunes minus one: The End.
Special thanks:
Whisky a Go Go:
Mikeal Maglieri - Owner
Tisa Mylar - Manager
Celina Denkins - National Talent Buyer/Booking Agent
"Everyone at The Whisky is in awe of the print. It should make you
happy to know that you are now a part of our history here at The Whisky. Keep
on rubbin on . . ." Celina Denkins

the rubbing. It is so beautiful and quite honestly . . . perfect!" Red
