Traveling with the group will be Honorary Hollywood Mayor Johnny Grant and his assistant, actresses Tracy O’Connor and Michelle Lee as well as film festival organizer Al Bowman and local businessman Rick Dorfman. Johnny Grant will present a Walk of Fame Star to the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Director to commemorate this first ever film festival. Susanna Griffie – Founder will also be on hand to present a Jim Morrison rubbing Ltd. Edition Print to the Base Commander during a special ceremony.

Several independent music videos will also be shown in two – two hour viewing sessions on Sunday, March 25th at the Windjammer Ballroom located near the center of town. The event will follow the 105th Navy Seabees Ball on Saturday the 24th, where the traveling party will be honored guests.

The Doors finally received their long overdue star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The crowds were overflowing as Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger each took the podium to shouts of endearment. It was truly a joyous occasion.  Congratulations: Ray, Robby, John & Jim.

Whisky a Go Go celebrates 40th anniversary with The Doors, Rock n Roll Hall of Fame & jdmrubbings.

An historic night for jdmrubbings creator, Susanna Griffie, and all who attended the celebration at The Whisky this night. The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame was there to induct The Whisky. The Doors returned to the famous stage that launched their remarkable career; kicking off their year long celebration of their 40th anniversary. The only person missing was Jim Morrison. I brought Jim to everyone this night by proxy thru the presentation to The Whisky a Go Go of a framed Ltd. Edition Print of the Jim Morrison rubbing offered on this site. The print will hold a special place of honor on the wall at The Whisky, in memory of Jim Morrison & the contribution of The Doors.

Hundreds of people lined up outside while I was entertained with a warm up performance from the remaining members of The Doors. Former Doors drummer, John Densmore was there but did not join Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger on stage. Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington and Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell took turns at the mic doing Morrison’s part with former Guns & Roses guitarist Slash there to help out. It was quite surreal, watching Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger perform all their famous tunes minus one: The End.

Special thanks:
